Description
The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone or Service- Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns only. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for the dry docking and repair to the USCGC KODIAK ISLAND (WPB 1341), a 110 Foot ?C? Class Patrol Boat. The home port is St. Petersburg, Florida. Geographic Restriction: Fort Pierce, FL to Tampa, FL. The work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period is for 90 days. Commencing on or about 25 April 2005. This work is such as, but not limited to: Welding Repairs, Preserve SKEG Top Plate in Engine Room, Inspect & Preserve Engine Room Skeg Top Plate, Renew Engine Room Skeg Top Plate, Clean and Inspect Fuel and Oil Tanks, Clean Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, Inspect Government-furnished Propeller Shaft, Inspect Bronze Sleeves in Various Shaft Packing Areas, Remove, Fabricate, Fit, and Install Shaft Packing Bronze Sleeves, Renew Water Lubricated Propeller Shaft Bearings, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers, Repair Propeller Root Erosion(1.0 cubic inch), Balance Propeller, Inspect MDE Exhaust System, Renew 18 inch Exhaust Stainless Steel Pipe, Renew 18x12 inch Exhaust Transition Piece, Clean and Inspect Heat Exchangers, Preserve Transducer Hull Rings, Renew Valves, Renew Duplex Sea Strainers, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies, Renew Rudder Upper Bearing, Renew Rudder Lower Bearings, Overhaul Stabilizing Fins, Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks, Repair, Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tank (3-14-1-W), Preserve and Disinfect Potable Water Tank (3-14-2-W), Preserve Grey Water Collection and Holding Tank, Preserve Underwater Body, Side scan (Contracted Separately by Government), Renew Floating Deck System in AFT Berthing, Galley and Messdeck, Preserve Weather Decks, Inspect and Maintain Cathodic Protection System, Renew Cathodic Anode, Renew Reference Electrode, Renew Capastic Fairing, Provide Temporary Logistics, Provide Additional Temporary Logistics, Routine Drydocking, Renew Doors, Hatches and Scuttles, Insulate and Preserve Battery Space, Preserve Bilge Surfaces in Battery Space, Preserve Bilge Surfaces in Forward Auxiliary Machinery Space, Renew Deck, Bulkhead and Deck Covering Systems, Install New SSDG Isolation Mounts (EC110-B-084)), Install Stern Flap (EC110-C-087), Install Spray Rail Extensions (EC 110-C-087), Install New Type Shaft Seal Assemblies (EC 110-C-089), Overhaul Steering Gear Components. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. (c) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by 14 February 2005. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted at www.eps.gov.
