Description
The U.S. Army, TACOM-ARDEC, on behalf of the Office of PM Soldier Weapons, has interest in procuring compact cleaning kit, to be included as a component of a Close Quarters Battle (CQB) Kit. A Bid Sample of 15 is to be submitted along with a technical proposal, at no cost to the Government. An initial base quantity of 50 cleaning kits will be procured to be delivered within 30 days of contract award. Four (4) Options are planned with ranges from a minimum quantity of 4,000 each to a maximum quantity of 10,000 each per option. The compact cleaning kit shall mount to the Soldier?s web gear without the use of tools. The compact cleaning kit case shall be constructed of synthetic, water resistant, rapid drying material and shall be either black or olive drab in color. Additionally, the cleaning kit case shall have a zipper to access all the items within the kit. The item is envisioned to be a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) non- developmental item (NDI). The item must currently be in production at the contractor?s site, developmental items are neither permitted nor desired.The compact cleaning kit shall be the ULT KIT 640-16, NSN: 5180-01-516-3219, manufactured by Otis Technology Inc., or equivalent. The cleaning kit shall contain: Items List/Instruction Sheet & CD Optic cleaning components consisting of cotton swabs, lens cleaning solution, lens cloth and a mohair lens cleaning brush Ten M16 patches 2/3 Oz break free solvent NATO Adapter Obstruction remover Slotted brass tip Short Brush Multi-tool consisting of needle-nose pliers, knife blade, cross tip screwdriver, flat tip screwdriver, and file, Pipe cleaners Straight pick 3-6 cleaning rods sections that when assembled will extend to 30 inches and shall be compatible with standard NATO male and female threads T-Handle that can swivel and be compatible with standard NATO male and female threads to allow connection to other components of the cleaning kit, minimum length 7 & 7/16 inches. Double ended toothbrush with different size ends 5.56 cal chamber brush 5.56 cal bore brush Two Flex rods one at least 30 inches in length and one 8 inches in length with NATO standard female threads to allow connection to other components of the cleaning kit. Scraper An additional mohair lens cleaning brush, a curved pick, and a muzzle cap, camouflage in color. The contractor must be able to sustain a delivery schedule of 833 cleaning kits per month.
