Description
Notice of Intent: The proposed action is for supplies for which the Bureau of Reclamation intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The reason justifying this sole source procurement is that the Government believes that only one responsible source can provide the supplies that will satisfy the agency requirements. The Bureau of Reclamation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with JAMB Industries, 336 Rockaway Valley Rd., Boonton, NJ to purchase an Amplifier Aided Current transformer with the following specifications: Reclamation's Hydroelectric Research and Technical Services Group needs to purchase three (3) high precision current transformers (CTs) to calibrate generator CTs at Grand Coulee. The plant CTs are permanently installed and can not be removed. Thus the high precision CTs that is being purchased must fit around the same bus as the plant CTs. The high precision CTs will be installed in series with the plant CTs. PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS: Amplifier Aided Current transformer, 6000:1 ampere amplifier aided current transformer with the following specifications: Type: Window, round Dimensions: 10-inch inner diameter, 16-inch or less outer diameter, 3-inch or less in height Weight: 20 pounds or less Rated Current: 6000 Amps, 60 Hz Ratio: 6000:1 Temperature Range: 10 to 40 degrees C Secondary Burden: 1 ohm Accuracy: +/- 0.02 percent or better Phase Error: +/- 3 minute (+/- 0.05 degree) or better Measurement Range: 10 percent to 110 percent Calibration Certificate: Required and traceable to a nationally recognized standard Any firm that believes it can furnish the items described above is encouraged to give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished, in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. All responses received within 6 days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquiries will only be accepted by e-mail: lhayes@do.usbr.gov. Responses should include the firm's business size [e.g. small business, other than small business] in accordance with the size standard: 500 Employees for North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code: 334416.
