- Description
- Vessel(s) Required: U.S. or foreign flag tug and Ro/Ro barge to transport the cargo described in Box 2 below. Vessel is required to have a strong ramp (not portable) with sides. Vessel?s deck is required to be free of obstructions (e.g., D-rings) that would prevent cargo from being loaded with a front-end loader. The vessel may make multiple voyages to transport the cargo, but must be capable of carrying a minimum of 1,500 MTONS of cargo per voyage. In accordance with the Cargo Preference Act of 1904 and Section IIIA.3 of the Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA) (see 69 FEDERAL REGISTER 25166-25168, May 5, 2004, or most current reference), preference will be given to U.S. flag vessels and VISA participants.
