Description

The U.S. Department of Agriculture proposes to sole source purchase Upgrades to an ABI 3730 sequencer from Applied Biosystems of Foster City, CA. The upgrades will upgrade the ABI 3730 to an ABI 3730XL. This means that the main body of the machine will stay in place at its Stoneville, MS location. The control board will be replaced from an ABI in house supply that will modify the machine to increase its processing rate from 48 to 96 samples per run. These upgrades shall be installed/set-up delivery FOB to the USDA, ARS, Stoneville, MS. An IFB with complete specification requirements will be issued on or about February 25, 2005. These dates are tentative and will be specified in the IFB package. All requests must be submitted in writing, faxed to (662) 686-5373 or by electronic mail to: tvjones@ars.usda.gov.
