Description
ENHANCED 12-GAUGE NONLETHAL AREA ROUND, XM1069 For Mossberg 590 MARKET SURVEY The U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is currently seeking sources for the manufacture and delivery of the Enhanced 12-Gauge Nonlethal Area Round, XM1069. This round will replace the existing M1013 and is designed to provide temporary incapacitation to groups of personnel through kinetic energy and/or release of a RCA agent upon impact. The XM1069 shall be a nonlethal device that releases a visible, brightly colored, non-red, substance over a three meter (threshold), five meter (objective) radius that when seemingly removed, maintains permanent UV properties up to three days (threshold), five days (objective) later in order to view individuals with a device which detects the stain. The Enhanced 12- Gauge Nonlethal Area Round must be compatible with the Mossberg 590. The Enhanced 12-Gauge Nonlethal Area Round shall be size-compatible with the 12- gauge utility pouch (GSA# GSAATIEAUPMS) and shall be transportable by soldiers over all environmental domains. The probability of hitting an E-Silhouette at the maximum effective threshold ranges should be at least .80 (threshold) and .95 (objective.) Tactile feedback which enables the user to identify the round type and operating method shall be provided by the round?s design to enhance user identification and operation in darkness while wearing mission dictated clothing and equipment. All responsible, interested sources are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data. The literature received from interested candidates shall describe its functional and characteristics. Request that any prospective offers submit their literature no more than 30 pages by March 18, 2005 by 12:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time.
