- DESC: Notice of intent to award a sole source contract to Sensormatic Hawaii (SHI), to provide annual preventative maintenance service as well as technical support service for the U.S. Marine Forces, Pacific?s (MARFORPAC) portable video surveillance systems. The portable video systems were purchased and installed by SHI, who is the systems integrator, under a separate contract. The systems are still under parts only warranty; therefore, warranty work will be provided by SHI. Current warranty would be voided if warranty work is done by a different vendor. The requirement is to undertake all reasonable means to ensure that MARFORPAC?s portable video surveillance systems are fully functional at all times. In order to guarantee system operability; preventative maintenance services as well as technical support services are to be provided. This service shall be limited to repair and/or replacement of equipment as installed and or provided under the SHI ? MARFORPAC cont! racts in Hawaii, Djibouti, Korea, Japan, Afghanistan, California or any other locations where the SHI portable video surveillance systems are deployed. A help desk shall be provided that will respond 24 hours a day 365 days a year to technical support issues with the SHI systems installed at the locations specified above. If there is any significant system faults which cannot be resolved without providing on site trouble shooting and rectification to the systems, technicians shall be dispatched to alleviate the system fault as fast as travel arrangements can be made. In the event that a Command with ownership of a (fixed installation) SHI video surveillance system is to permanently leave that Camp or for any other reason needs to dismantle the system, services to support the move shall be provided. This service team will coordinate or otherwise provide the labor and technical services necessary to dismantle and salvage usable system components for MARFORPAC service stock! or possible re-installation at a new location. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOI), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals, or quotations received in response to this notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide services sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the government is available. The Government will be the sole determiner regarding an offeror?s ability to meet all requirements. The government will consider all EOIs received within 10 days of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be con! sidered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. EOIs sent via the US Postal Service should be mailed to Commanding General, LSC, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Box 63063 (Attn: Sandy Nagayama), Kaneohe bay, HI 96863-3063. EOIs sent via Federal Express or hand carried must be delivered to Regional Contracting Office Hawaii, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, BLDG 209, Kaneohe, HI 96863 during weekdays, excluding federal holidays, between the hours of 7:00am and 3:30pm. EOIs may be submitted via facsimile to: Attn Sandy Nagayama @ 808-257-2350. The facsimile transmission must clearly identify this notice and the name of the contracting officer on the first page. Submitters bear the burden of ensuring that the EOI reaches the designated contracting officer on time and should allow a reasonable time for facsimile transmission to be completed. All pages of the transmission must reach the office before the deadline specified and pages of the facsimile! transmission that arrive in the office after the specified deadline will not be considered. The submitter bears the risk of non-receipt of facsimile transmission and should confirm by telephone that any facsimile was received. This purchase will be under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1. See Note 22. The anticipated award date is February 28, 2005.
