- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities intend to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Autism Society of America a professional service contract for support response for outreach efforts and services for complex autism inquiries. The purpose of this contract is to acquire call services from an organization that has information infrastructure and personnel in every state that can address complex and technical questions about autism from health care providers and parents for a 6 month period. The minimum requirements for the vendor must include: 1) Knowledge and experience in early identification, developmental screening, diagnosis, and treatment of autism spectrum disorders; 2) Understanding of the health care delivery system and its relation to the early intervention delivery system (which is different in every state); 3) Information infrastructure in each state ? ability to provide specific and local referrals to health care providers and early intervention providers; and 4) Database infrastructure to track calls, responses, and provide reports to CDC. The agency will consider any response(s) to this announcement in determining whether or not to compete this requirement. If the agency determines to compete this requirement, a RFQ will be issued solely to the responders to this notice and a subsequent presolicitation notice will not be issued. Requests for quotations including a detailed scope of work will be available on or about February 25, 2005. This acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures
