- The FAA is seeking firms to perform the following Mini-Mod Site Preparation Work for the Administration Wing Basement at the Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center, Aurora, Illinois: 1) Construction of new offices and conference room, including walls, doors, tile floor, carpeting and other finishes; 2) Modification and re-balancing of existing HVAC systems, including installation of new ductwork, insulation, diffusers, grilles, registers and dampers; 3) Installation of fire/smoke detection and alarm systems; 4) Miscellaneous plumbing work; 5) Installation of light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches and panelboards; 6) Other work as required on the project drawings and specifications. Offer range is between $75,000 to $100,000.00 with a performance time of approximately 45 calendar days. Construction start is anticipated for summer 2005. Upon completion of evaluation process, only those firms determined to be qualified will be sent a Request for Offer (RFO). The RFO is anticipated to be available by Spring 2005. FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
