Description
The purpose of this Amendment is to extend the Closing Date for Proposals to 24 February 2005, Noon Mountain Standard Time (MST) vice 17 February 2005, Noon MST. Also, to answer technical questions in response to the Solicitation. The following are answers to technical questions that were submitted prior to the deadline. The deadli ne for technical questions has expired. 1. Question: Hydraulic system desired: A  Front crankshaft drive. Best option for snowplow. B  If and is transmission new world automatic, if so live hydraulic available? 1. Answer: Hydraulics shall be a live syste m working off a Hot Shift Power Take Off (PTO) on the Allison 4500RDS, 6 speed world transmission. 2. Question: Does end user need power up and down on plow? 2. Answer: The plow shall be a power up and gravity down as stated in specifications. 3. Question: Does end user need a steel or poly plow? 3. Answer: The plow shall be constructed of minimum 10 gauge rolled plate steel with 9 steel support ribs. 4. Question: Would end user prefer to have a fixed grill with tilting hood or a Quick coupler o n plow to allow short removal time of plow for daily engine checks? You can have both if desired. 4. Answer: A fixed Grille is preferred so daily checks can be made with the plow on the truck. 5. Question: Do to the multiple levels of quality and design in dump boxes, would you prefer to see a general purpose box, rock box, or demo style - standard tail gate or high lift gate? 5. Answer: The dump box shall be a heavy duty, high quality, sloped/tapered, GP box with double side walls, Bail hoist mount, minimu m quarter inch AR400 floor angled to side at 45 degrees to help prevent snow and dirt from sticking in the corners. The tailgate shall be slightly above bed height (at the rear) double acting tailgate, angled forward at the top approximately 12 degrees. 6. Question: Does the end user require a rear high assembly? 6. Answer: The wheel base figures are approximate they may vary some.
