- Description
- The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), PPQ has a requirement for the chemical treatment of Asian Longhorned Beetle host trees in the Counties of Middlesex and Union, New Jersey. This is a firm fixed price, requirements, task order contract covering a base year and 4 additional option years, which will be exercised at the discretion of the Government. Contractor shall provide chemical treatment services using imidacloprid as used by the USDA as one of the control methods against the exotic wood boring insect, Asian Longhorned Beetle. Approximately 30,000 trees within these counties are scheduled for treatment in 2005, during the months of April through June. Contractors shall provide both soil injection and trunk injection applications for treating this area. About 15,000 trees, with an average trunk diameter of 8 to 10 inches, are located on wooded property. These trees will require trunk injection treatment through Mauget Trunk Injection with Imicide, at an application rate of 2 mls per inch of trunk diameter. The remaining 15,000 trees, with an average trunk diameter of 15 to 20 inches, are located on industrial and residential property. These trees will be treated using soil injection application with Merit 2F, at an application rate of 0.2 fl oz per inch of trunk diameter. The Government intends to provide the solicitation and all amendments via this website only. NOTIFICATION WILL NOT BE SENT TO OFFERORS REGARDNG THE ISSUANCE OF THE SOLICITATION NOR ANY OF ITS AMENDMENTS. IT IS THE OFFEROR’S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THIS WEBSITE PERIODICALLY FOR UPDATES.
