Description
THIS IS *NOT* A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, QUOTATION, OR INVIATION TO BID NOTICE. 1 Request for Information (RFI) 1.1 Background The Joint Task Force for Global Network Operations (JTF-GNO), United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), is requesting information about software products that will collect, record, detect and report deviations to the configuration of individual machines (desktops, workstations, servers, etc.) on Department of Defense (DOD) computer networks. 1.2 Purpose The purpose of this RFI is to identify a possible solution for DOD-wide deployment that will support the DOD INFOCON Baselining Policy. JTF-GNO?s objectives are to find a solution that will: Collect a ?baseline? of operator-specified information about each machine in a specified network. This information will be far reaching to ensure relevancy. Collect a subsequent ?baseline? at some future point Have ability to compare two baselines, and generate a comprehensive list of the differences between these two baselines Have ability to search pulled elements of information in an ad-hoc fashion The information collected would be all elements included within: Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) or the Common Information Model (CIM) for non-Windows platforms File Systems MD-5 hash of each selected file Registry information (or the equivalent on non-Windows platforms) 1.3 Network Environment The solution must operate in all DOD unclassified operating systems to include Microsoft Windows-based, HP-UX, Solaris UNIX, and Linux environments. 2 Technical Information Requested 1. Is your product on a GSA schedule? 2. What kind of technical support is available for your product? 3. Does your product support Federal standard (Section 508) for accessibility? 4. Describe your product?s technical architecture (required platforms, databases, network infrastructure, etc.). Identify third-party software products required to implement your product. 5. Does the product support PKI/PKE encryption? 6. Does the product require an agent on each machine (desktop, server, workstation, etc)? 7. If your product is agent-based, do you provide a method for automatic delivery of the agent? 8. Does your product use WMI/CIM to retrieve information? If not, please describe the method of data collection. 9. Does your product provide secure communications between a target machine and the data repository? 10. Describe your product?s reporting capability. 11. Describe your product?s differential analysis capability. 12. Does your product have to ability to discover previously unknown machines on the network? 13. Describe the scalability of your product in terms of the number of machines it can service per installation. 14. Can your product operate in WAN environment? 15. Is your product WEBM enabled? 16. What type of training is available for your product? 17. What type of long-term support con you provide for this product? 18. What language or languages is your product coded in? 19. What are the security features of your product? 3 INSTRUCTIONS FOR RFI SUBMISSION 3.1 Submissions Vendor RFI responses must be received by 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on 15 Apr 05. At a minimum, the following information should be provided: Company name, address, city, state and zip, phone and fax numbers, and web address One sales contact with phone number and e-mail address One technical contact with phone number and e-mail address Location of U.S. primary and satellite offices Applicable product name(s). The Government is not liable for any costs incurred by vendors in the preparation and delivery of their responses nor for any subsequent discussions and/or product demonstrations. Receipt of the RFI or submission of an RFI response confers no rights upon the vendor nor obligates the Government in any manner. 3.3 Questions Questions regarding the RFI should be submitted by electronic mail.
