- Description
- The above reference solicitation is hereby amended to respond to a technical questions submitted. The due date for quotations, February 17, 2005 at 3:00 PM Local Time, remains unchanged. QUESTION: The statement below is from the distributor of the media you are requesting, please clarify your request for ???Watertight lids???. I do want to point out one part of the rfq that needs attention. Our standard 55 gallon steel drums come with locking lids. They are not however "watertight" as requested. One alternative is to offer polylined hazardous waste drums. While we CANNOT guarantee these will be watertight we believe they will resist water better than standard drums. RESPONSE: The definition of Solicitation Number SB1341-05-Q-0315, Line Item 0001 paragraph (9) PACKAGING - Water tight lids, a removable steel lid, capable of being stored in an area exposed to weather, not to allow rain or melting snow to make contact with the S780 Steel Shot. Locking rings are used to hold the removable steel lids to the 55-gallon drums. As to the alternative polylined hazardous waste drums, this is totally unacceptable, due to the fact that NIST heats the steel shot in ovens.
