Description
The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System is seeking a contractor to furnish all storage, labor, transportation and equipment required to provide durable medical equipment; install and/or remove portable ramping, porch or trunk lifts; and store and assemble/deliver power wheelchairs and scooters. Along with delivery of equipment to the veterans residence, it shall be properly assembled and tested. Areas for deliveries will include Western Pennsylvania, Southeast Ohio, and West Virginia. All contractors submitting proposals in response to this solicitation must be physically located in the geographical area in which they will provide service and have maintained residency in this geographical area for a minimum period of 3 years. Offerors responding to this solicitation shall be accredited from JCAHO and must provide evidence of accreditation with their offer. This contract will follow a Performance-Based service contracting approach, whereby the VAPHS establishes the performance standards to be met in the performance work statement and the Contractor is responsible for meeting or exceeding those standards. The contract term will be effective April 1, 2005 and continue through March 31, 2006. This solicitation may be downloaded at http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov/cgi-bin/WebObjects/BOSPublic.woa. This acquisition is open to both large and small business concerns. The NAICS code is 621610; the small business size standard is $11.5 million. Qualified responsive and responsible offerors may submit a proposal which if timely received shall be considered by the agency. The offeror is responsible to download all amendments and other documents from the BOS website without further notice from the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. The solicitation will be issued on or about February 16, 2005 to interested parties through electronic data interchange at the following URL: http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov/cgi-bin/WebObjects/BosPublic.woa, hand-carried requests must be submitted in writing to Pamela Rayburg at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Bldg 4, 3rd Floor, Room 361E, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Any amendments to this solicitation will be available only at this website. Proposals shall be due by close of business (COB 4:30PM) on Monday, February 28th, 2005.
