Description
The Walla Walla District Corps of Engineers intends to award a SOLE SOURCE commercial item contract (base and one option year) to Lotek Engineering Inc. in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 6. Subject contract will for purchase of pulse encoded aquat ic radio transmitter tags, acoustic transmitter tags, receivers and hydrophones to supplement the existing receiver systems used for research purposes associated with the Northwestern Divisions Anadromous Fish Evaluation Program. Each tag transmits a uni que transmission which is detected, decoded and tracks as the fish migrates through the Columbia and Snake Rivers in Dworshak Reservoir and associated streams that enter the reservoir. The pulse encoded radio tags, acoustic tags and receivers will be furn ished to researchers whose equipment must be compatible with the U.S. Geologic Service, Idaho Fish and Game, and the University of Idaho that currently use the Lotek system. To keep costs to a minimum, equipment purchase must be of the same frequency and type as used by these groups. These studies are in response to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency Fisheries and U. S. Fish and Wildlife 2000 Biological Opinions. T he studies that these tags will be used for are being conducted by users of the Lotek system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This not a request for bids, but a notice that our intention is to issue a sole source solicit ation for this requirement. For further information, please contact Clarence A. Miller at 509-527-7217. The 2005 requirement is below For the 2005 fish monitoring field season, the Walla Walla District intends to purchase the following equipment: Lotek model NTC-3-2-KMF radio transmitter Frequency range: 149.3125  149.800 MHz and 150.2750-150.7625 MHz Weight: 0.8 grams Tag life: 19 days Size: Able to be gastrically implanted in 110 mm juvenile salmonid (approx. 7x16mm) Quantity required: 14,065 Lotek model MA-TP11-25 acoustic transmitter Frequency range: acoustic Weight (air): 10g Tag life: 110 days @ 5s burst rate Size: 11mm x 61mm Quantity required: 25 Lotek model MCFT-3EM radio transmitter Frequency range: 149.3125  149.800 MHz Weight: 8.9g Tag life: 399 day typical @ 5s burst rate Size: 11mm x 49mm Quantity required: 20 Lotek model MCFT-3FM radio transmitter Frequency range: 149.3125  149.800 MHz Weight: 10g Tag life: 560 days typical @ 5s burst rate Size: 11mm x 59mm Quantity required: 40 Lotek model MCFT-3A radio transmitter Frequency range: 149.3125  149.800 MHz Weight: 16g Tag life: 761 days typical @ 5s burst rate Size: 16mm x 46mm Quantity required: 40
