Description
The Walla Walla District Corps of Engineers intends to award a SOLE SOURCE commercial item contract (base and one option year) to Advanced Telemetry Systems in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 6. Subject contract will for purchase of pulse encoded a quatic radio transmitter tags, acoustic transmitter tags, receivers and hydrophones to supplement the existing receiver systems used for research purposes associated with the Northwestern Divisions Anadromous Fish Evaluation Program. Each tag transmits a unique transmission that is detected, decoded and tracks as the fish migrates through the Columbia and Snake Rivers. The pulse encoded radio tags, acoustic tags and receivers will be furnished to researchers whose equipment must be compatible with the Na tional Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency that currently use the ATS system. To keep costs to a minimum, equipment purchase must be of the same frequency and type as used by this group. These studies are in response to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency Fisheries and U. S. Fish and Wildlife 2000 Biological Opinions. The studies that these tags will be used for are being conducted by users of the Advanced Telemetry System. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This not a request for bids, but a notice that our intention is to issue a sole sou rce solicitation for this requirement. For further information, please contact Clarence A. Miller at 509-527-7217. The requirements are: 2005 Purchase of radio tags and associated equipment For the 2005 fish monitoring field season, the Walla Walla District intends to purchase the following equipment: Advanced Telemetry Systems Radio Transmitter Frequency Range: 30.170  30.250 MHz Weight: 0.8 grams Tag life: 10 days Size: Able to be gastrically implanted in 110 mm juvenile salmonid (approx. 7x16mm) Quantity required: 13,600
