Description
The National Park Service has a requirement for conversion of a disused logging road to a paved hiking trail at Redwood National Park, Humboldt County, California. The construction site is located adjacent to U.S. Highway 101 a short distance north of the town of Orick, California. The work of the contract will consist of asphalt trail construction and shall include, but not be limited to, removal of existing culverts, installation of new culverts, excavation and establishment of ditches, road base establishment, finish grading, paving, and mulching. Due to environmental restrictions, the work of the contract may commence no earlier than July 10, 2005 and must be completed by October 16, 2005. The NAICS code for this project is 237310, and the size standard is $28.5 million. Estimated price range for this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. This project is subject to the Davis-Bacon Act. This project will be awarded under a single firm fixed price contract. The period of performance will be 60 calendar days from date of issuance of notice to proceed. The solicitation package will be issued on or about March 16, 2005 with a response time of 30 days. A site visit will be scheduled for all interested parties at a date and time to be announced in the solicitation. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be issued, and facsimile and telephone requests for copies of the solicitation will not be honored. The Government reserves the right to cancel the solicitation. This project is being solicited and awarded in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Public Law 100-656. All responsible sources may submit a bid that, if timely received, shall be considered. Award will be made to the responsive bidder whose offer is most advantageous to the government, considering only price and price related factors. Submit questions regarding this solicitation to R.J.
