Description
The Coast Guard has a requirement for all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydocking and repairs to the USCGC COBIA (WPB 87311), an 87 Foot Patrol Boat. The homepier of the cutter is Mobile, Alabama. This procurement is also geographically restricted from Brownsville, TX to Shallotte Inlet, NC. The performance period is for 42 days. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611. This procurement is set aside for HubZone businesses, therefore only SBA certified HubZone company?s may bid. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The solicitation and specification will be issued on or about March 7, 2005. Award will be made to the responsible contractor whose offer, conforming to the RFQ, will be most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered. This work is such as, but not limited to: Welding Repairs, Clean and Inspect Fuel and Waste Oil Tanks, Additional Fuel removal and disposal, Clean Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding tanks, Realign Main Engine/Reduction Gear, Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, Inspect Government-furnished Propeller Shaft, Straighten Shaft, Inspect Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings, Renew Intermediate Bearings, Renew Aft Bearing, Renew, Inspect and Reinstall Propellers, Propeller Packaging, Perform Minor Repairs and Recondition of Propeller, Preserve Transducer Hull Rings, Overhaul and Renew Valves, Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies, Preserve Rib Wet Notch Deck and Stern Door Interior Surface, Preserve Underwater Body, Draft Mark Painting, Modify and Renew Cathodic Protection System, Renew Transducer Fairing, Provide Temporary Logistics, Provide Additional Temporary, Routine Drydocking, Remove and Reinstall Mast. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. Funds are available for this procurement. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten days from solicitation issuance]. MLCA must have ten (10) days advance notice to complete a CD-ROM set of drawings. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
