Description
The Naval Air Systems Command intends to contract with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, PO Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516, to provide software and integration, verification and validation of advanced functionality for the AN/APG-79 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) weapon system. Specifically, the efforts will be to provide Configuration Set H4 for F/A-18 E/F AESA equipped aircraft. McDonnell Douglas is the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft in this configuration and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise, and design/technical data necessary to support the AN/APG-79 system.
