- Description
- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego (SSC San Diego), intends to award an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract with firm-fixed-prices, using commercial methods as described in FAR Part 12, on a sole source basis to Andrew Corporation of Orland Park, IL. The contract will have a one-year base period and four one-year options, for a total of five years. The contract will be for Fiber Optic Micro Cable (FOMC) manufactured to NOSC Specification 946-0004-91, Product Fabrication Specification for Fiber Optic Microcable, dated 3 February 1992. Pricing will be required for continuous lengths of less than 10 kilometers, continuous lengths equal to or greater than 10 kilometers but less than 20 kilometers, continuous lengths equal to or greater than 20 kilometers but less than 23 kilometers, and continuous lengths equal to or greater than 23 kilometers but less than 28 kilometers. The estimated maximum quantity for the base and all option periods is 7,275,000 meters of FOMC. This is a follow-on effort to contract N66001-99-D-5032. Use of any other contractor would result in substantial duplication of costs and delays to the Government based on the specialized knowledge and experience developed by Andrew Corporation under the prior contract. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals.
