Description
The proposed solicitation is for a follow-on, IQC type, prime vendor contract to cover requirements for lumber, millwork, plywood and related products such as woodworking machines and associated tools, in Hawaii. The prime vendor will be responsible for making available, to the ordering activities covered under the resulting contract, the categories of items listed below: CATEGORY Softwood Lumber Hardwood Lumber Plywood/Veneer Preservative Treated Poles/Pilings/Crossarms/Ties Dowels/Plugs/Stakes/Doors/Moldings Sawmill and Plaining Mill Machinery Woodworking Machines Tools and Attachments for Woodworking Machinery NOTE 1: This list may not be all-inclusive and the prime vendor may be required to furnish other items under the classifications lumber, millwork, plywood or woodworking machinery and tools. The total number of items required under this potential contract is approximately 1200 for lumber related items and 400 for wood working related items. A Microsoft Word document, containing information on lumber related items, is available to interested parties upon request. Items listed in this document represent all the potential lumber related items that shall be made available under any resulting contract. CAUTION NOTICE: This initiative is intended to satisfy the various requirements of the DSCP customers in the Hawaii region (including Guam) for wood products for other than for facilities maintenance, together with requirements for sawmill and planing mill machinery, woodworking machines and attachments, and woodworking tools. Typical wood products requirements for other than facilities maintenance include, but are not limited to, box & crate making, cribbing, shoring, bracing, blocking, dry-docking, wharf building, military unique construction, and large or otherwise unique orders. Also included within the scope of the contract are the machinery and tools required to cut, plane and saw the wood products. This initiative complements other DSCP acquisition initiatives, such as the Maintenance, Repair, Operations (MRO) initiative, within which facility maintenance lumber requirements (i.e. small quantities, common lumber) are a subset. Some overlap of requirements may be anticipated.
