Description

17. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation to procure commercial items prepared in accordance with the format of FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being issued as a Notice of Intent (NOI5024). This solicitation and its incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 01-27. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is a small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 541519 and the Small Business size standard is $21.0. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intends to procure information technology (IT) support services with Apollo Information Systems for a period of twelve months. The purpose of this acquisition is to provide IT support services for the NIAID firewall security devices. The support services shall cover a quantity of 4 of the (NetScreen 24 x 7 Bundled Support Pack for NetScreen-5200-P01A-S00 Models and includes the following: 1) Advanced Hardware Replacement; 2) Software Subscription and Updates; 3) 24 x 7 Phone/Email Support (1 Year.) The services shall also cover a quantity of 1 of the NetScreen 24 x 7 Bundled Support Pack for the Global Pro System license for up to 25 devices and it includes the following: 1) Software Subscription and Updates; 2) 24 x 7 Phone/Email support (1 Year). The firewall security device was originally purchased from Apollo Information Systems and they have continuously supported our Network since the time of the purchase. The NIAID network security plays a major role in the development and deployment of these services especially at the infrastructure level. The NIAID has a highly sophisticated security plan implemented as part of the NIAID network to protect the network from unauthorized use. The FOB Point shall be Destimation and this is a Firm-Fixed price contract. The following Federal Acquisition Regulations provisions and clauses apply to the acquisition: FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-3 Offerors Representations and Certification Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items; FAR 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items: FAR 52.212-7 Central Contractor Registration (2003). A completed copy of provisions at FAR 52.212-3 Offerors Representation and Certifications Commercial Items must be included. By submission of an offer, the offeror acknowledges the requirement that a prospective awardee shall be registered in the CCR database prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of any contract, basic agreement, basic ordering agreement, or blanket purchasing agreement resulting from this solicitation.
