- Description
- The Combat Sustainment Wing at Warner Robins Air Logistics Center in conjunction with the Naval Inventory Control Point, Philadelphia PA, will acquire a long-term, total system sustainment program for the A/A24A-56 Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) utilizing Performance Base Logistics. The contract will support JHMCS populated on USAF F-15 C/D, USAF F-16 C/D, Navy F/A-18 A-G and related platforms of as many as 10 FMS and/or direct sale programs. Period of performance (including options) will be 5 to 10 years beginning 01 Oct 2007. The JHMCS incorporates an ejection-compatible, helmet-mounted display with the capability to cue and verify cueing of high off-axis sensors and weapons, on USAF/USN single and two seat fighter aircraft. It also includes the hardware and software to allow the JHMCS to perform efficiently with the core weapons avionics of the host aircraft. The helmet-mounted portion of the system includes a flight helmet modified with display optics, image source, helmet tracker sensor, and cabled helmet-vehicle interfaces. Display processor/video hardware and software, cockpit mounted tracker transmitter, tracker processing electronics and software, and interface to aircraft computers, weapons, sensors and controls are common equipment with flexibility to maximize utility of various aircraft. Responsibilities of the Contractor will include in-house and subcontract spare LRU/SRU/Support Equipment production; repair overhaul and/or modification of aircraft spares and repair parts and support equipment; stock, store and issue of parts; packaging, handling, and transportation; configuration management; obsolescence management; reliability management; and stand-up/conduct of core depot repair operations at Warner Robins ALC and NAVSEA Crane. The JHMCS Sustainment Program will progressively support increasing quantities of fielded systems throughout the term of the contract. Platform populated systems at time of award are estimated at 600 DOD ship-sets. This is expected to grow to an estimated 1650 DOD ship-sets by the end of program year 7. At present, a total of approximately 650 ship-sets are under purchase consideration by foreign sources.
