Description
The FAA is seeking firms to perform the following Administration Wing Mini-Mod Upgrade at the Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center, Aurora, Illinois: The work to be completed under this scope includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Hazmat removal, control and legal disposal of friable and non-friable asbestos containing materials. Removal of lead based paints and PCB ballast. Construction of temporary negative-air-pressure enclosures. Hazmat work shall be performed by forces experienced in comparable work at occupied government facilities. 2. Demolition and removal of selected portions of building components 3. Provisions of a chair lift. 4. Renovation of walls, floors, and ceilings. 5. Renovation of mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, 6. Renovation of fire protection systems. 7. Renovation of lighting and power systems. 8. Renovation of communications systems. 9. Other work as required on the project drawings and specifications Offer range is between $1,000,000 to $3,000,000 with a performance time of approximately 365 calendar days. Construction start is anticipated for summer 2005. Interested firms should fill out and return the pre-qualification Screening Information Request (SIR) Application No. DTFAGL-05-R-00053. Upon completion of evaluation process, only those firms determined to be qualified will be sent a Request for Offer (RFO). The RFO is anticipated to be available by Spring 2005. FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
