Description
This project will consist of drainage and bituminous surface treatment on 19.080 kilometers (largest schedule) of roadway for TX PRA BIBE 16(4) and 109(1), in Big Bend National Park, Brewster County, State of Texas. Estimated price range is between $1,000,000 and $3,000,000. This project contains 3 schedules. Principal work items on the largest schedule include: 4,000 m silt fence; lump sum contractor testing; 1.4 ha clearing and grubbing; 1,315 m grade ditch; 130 m3 placed riprap, class 3; 250 m3 mortared riprap, class 2; 43,800 m2 road reconditioning, pulverize 75 mm depth; 64,035 m2 road reconditioning, pulverize 100 mm depth; 6,080 metric tons roadway aggregate, method 2; 2,700 metric tons surface treatment aggregates type B, grading 3; 285 metric tons surface treatment aggregates type B, grading 5; 2,580 metric tons surface treatment aggregates type BP, grading 4; 480 metric tons asphalt cement grade AC-5, latex modified; 80 metric tons prime coast grade MS-2; 865 metric tons blotter; 94 m3 concrete; 2,625 L pavement marking, type B; along with associated surveying, staking,pipe culverts and traffic control. The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000 with interest at prime rate, as published daily in the Wall Street Journal, plus 1.75 percent.
