Description
This is a Market Survey to locate alternative sources to manufacture and supply special shelving for the collection of specimens in Alcohol Rooms with the following characteristics: 1) Surfaces shall be resistant to alcohol spills and rusting by having a coating similar/equal to 6 mils cool white vinyl coating with a grey wash undercoating; 2) Each shelving level shall contain easily removable and adjustable earthquake bars to avoid vibration incidents and to accommodate the various size specimen jars; 3) Each shelving level shall be cantilevered to aid in movement of specimen jars between adjacent shelving units; 4) Each shelving level shall not have a lip on the front of the shelving face (as is customary on most shelving of this type); 5) Shelving units shall have a lifetime product warranty; 6) Shelving unit configurations shall include starters, single row add-ons, and double row add-ons; 7)The shelving units should have the following minimum specifications: (a) Seven levels of adjustable shelving; (b) Dimensions similar to 42-inch wide X 15-inch deep shelves with 84-inches high unit; (c) 16 gauge steel; (d) Shelf load of 475 lbs per shelf; and 8) Shelving must be able to be efficiently placed in three rooms (see table below) having flame detectors placed at intervals of 5-ft (aisles are centered on the flame detectors which are along the length of each room): Room # SF Length (ft) Width (ft) W634 Alcohol Room #1 494.8 26.75 18.50 W636 Alcohol Room #2 481.0 26.00 18.50 W633 Alcohol Room #3 400.3 26.25 15.25 It is estimated that 130-150 units (combination of starter, single row, and double row) maybe procured.
