Description
The Postal Service is seeking Qualification Statements from construction companies wishing to be Prequalified for an Indefinite Quantity Contract for General Construction in the State of New Mexico & Southwest Texas (Area includes the entire State of New Mexico, the following Arizona Counties- Apache, Arkansas and Navajo as well as the following Texas Counties: Andrews, Borden, Brewster, Crane, Culberson, Dawson, Ector, El Paso, Glasscock, Howard, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Loving, Martin, Midland, Pecos, Presidio, Reeves, Terrell, Upton, Ward and Winkler. The pre-qualified firms will be given the opportunity to submit a proposal on an Indefinite Quantity Contract (IQC) for repair and alteration projects within the geographic area described above. The proposal to be offered to pre-qualified firms includes a Unit Price Book containing over 80,000 construction tasks with preset unit prices. All unit prices are based on local labor, material and equipment prices including the current prevailing wages. Prequalified contractors will propose a Multiplier to be applied to a Unit Price Schedule. This Multiplier will apply to each unit price in the Unit Price Schedule. Your firm must be willing and able to work on all the projects that may occur within any of the geographical area listed above. More than one award may be made under this proposal. Cost Range: The contract is a unit price standard type arrangement for a two year period with three 1-year renewal options. The initial contract amount is $500,000. The contract amount may be increased, by modification and with an appropriate increase in bonding, up to $9,500,000. The minimum contract amount is $10,000. Small, women-owned and minority-owned subcontracting participation is encouraged. Performance bonds and payment bonds will be required from the successful offeror. General Contractors selected as being the most qualified will be placed on the prequalification list. Primary factors to be considered for prequalification are: 1. The Construction Company?s background, indefinite quantity contract experience, capacity to perform, timely completion history, references, financial stability, and safety. 2. The Construction Company possesses a valid contractor?s license or provides a copy of the application to obtain such license in the State of New Mexico. 3. The Construction Company capability of bonding with a minimum aggregate dollar amount of $5,000,000. 4. The Construction Company must have been in business, under the firm?s present name, for a minimum of five (5) consecutive years. 5. In addition, your company will be asked to show Indefinite Quantity Contract/Job Order Contract experience, comparable experience, and non-comparable experience. The definitions of each type of experience is further explained in the Prequalification Statement. In addition, please include prequalification number of 482980-05-A-0160 to identify the Qualification Statement package that you desire. The completed Qualification Statement should be delivered via one of the many services provided by the Postal Service or hand delivered to the Southwest Facilities Service Office (7800 N Stemmons Frwy, Ste 400, Dallas, TX 75247-4220). Qualification statements will not be returned.
