Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Fitzgerald Health Education Associates, Inc., 85 Flagship Drive, North Andover, MA 01845 to conduct a two-day training program in Pharmacologic Interventions for the VAPHS Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) group. The APNs are required by Pennsylvania state law to have 16 hours of continuing education in pharmacology to retain prescriptive authority to provide veteran care. The training must be provided September 21-22, 2005, at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. The contractor must provide 16 education contact hours in Pharmacologic Interventions over a 2-day program and must be an approved provider of nursing and APN continuing education units by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. The contractor must provide a complete set of handouts reflecting the two day course curriculum and references for an estimated sixty (60) participants.
