Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWCDIV Newport intends to award a sole source contract to North Atlantic Industries, Bohemia, NY for procurement of 50 ea. P/N 73SD1-4CS20-03, PC104 4-channel Synchro to Digital Converters. These cards contain 16 bit resolution; PC/104 compatible; 4 channels per card with 90 volt (60/400 Hz) inputs per channel; individually referenced inputs; transformer isolated inputs; dual speed programmable inputs; and power requirements of 5VDC less than 400 ma. Required delivery is 10 weeks to Newport, RI. These items will be used to build ten 16 channel synchro to digital interface boxes that receive data from a central signal data converter on board submarines. These Synchro Interfaces communicate with ships? navigation systems. These items will allow us to build 10 additional units with 10 spares that must be interchangeable with the original units. The basis for the sole source is this interchangeability. The solicitation release date is anticipated to be 03/03/2005. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
