Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, with JEOL USA, Peabody, MA under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Soliciting From a Single Source, for implementing a preventive maintenance service contract for one (1) JMS-GCMATE, Mass Spectrometer, Serial Number 144200-21 with FAB GUN. This is a sole source requirement as JEOL is the manufacturer and best equipped to service the spectrometer. A firm fixed priced purchase order will be issued on or about March 18, 2005. The performance period will begin March 19, 2005 and continue for one (1) year and include four (4) option periods of one (1) year each. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition.
