Description
Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S.Army Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Strret, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a contract on a sole source basis with Hills , Inc, 7785 Ellis Road, W.Melbourne, florida 32904 to provide research and development samples for evaluation of alternative reinforced substrate using spunbound materials and technology that will have a longer life, meet or exceed all current requirements and exceed durability requirements, than the current paper substrate. A firm fixed price research and development contract is planned. All deliverables shall be FOB destination to the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA. Hills Inc is the only com pany that can provide the research and development of an alternate substrate material using spunbound and meltdown component webs, layered/varied combinations of polymer, processing conditions, fiber cross sections, and nonwoven processes using the compani es patented technologies specifically pertaining to nonwoven component technology. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice represents the only official notice. There is no solicitation document for this acquisition.
