Description
US Army's upcoming re-procurement of 9-11 Cu. Yd. Scrapers and 2,500 gallon Water Distributors. The intent is to combine the procurement of scrapers and water distributors under one contract. This questionnaire is to aid in determining the suitabilit y of your equipment (with minor modification if necessary). There are two configurations. Type I - Non-Sectionalized (Air Transportable and Air-Drop-Able by C-130 aircraft) Type II Sectionalized (Airborne Transportable, Air-Drop-Able and Helicopter Transportable) These new vehicles are intended to replace the Armys current fleet of over-age Scrapers and Water Distributors. In order to maximize interchangeability of parts, both Type I and II configurations of the Scraper and Water Distributor should be the same base commercial model and have the same prime mover. The scraper should be capable of being moved with the Water D istributor's prime mover, and vise versa. The Type II configuration is intended to be an air-drop-able machine with the additional capability of easily being divided into two sections for helicopter transport (maximum weight per section of 16,600 lbs.) as well as easily reassembled once placed in theater. The scraper must be self-propelled and capable of completing construction and earthmoving tasks. These tasks include, but are not limited to moving, grading and excavating earth, blast rock, loose sand, aggregate, and soil involved with military earth movi ng operations in support of construction of roads, bridges, airfields and for airborne and airmobile operations. The water distributor must be self-propelled and capable of spreading non-potable water on soil for compaction operations, soil stabilization and dust control. It should be equipped with a self priming pump capable of drawing water from creeks, ponds, etc . without priming. The latest purchase description (ATPD-2310, dated 25 March 2003) is located with the market survey. Any supplemental information concerning the performance, human factors engineering/safety, reliability/maintainability etc., of your products or any other l iterature concerning your companies warranty program, production longevity, and reputation would be useful in this survey. http://contracting.tacom.army.mil/ssn/sources.htm
