Proposals are due May 5, 2005, no later than 4:00 p.m. PST. The Director intends to award 12 new concession contracts. Some of the contracts authorize operations in multiple park areas. There are no existing concessioners for these services at Oregon Cave Nat'l Monument and Manzanar Nat'l Historic Site. All concessioners selling visitor convenience merchandise will be required to have a valid Cooperating Association Agreement with the appropriate park area in which visitor convenience merchandise will be sold. Gross receipts of the existing ten concession permits ranged from a low of $12,402 to a high of $219,280. The Director, pursuant to 36CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing concessioners have a preferential right to renew the existing contracts because the annual gross receipts are expected to be less than $500,000 in the first 12 months. The prospectus will explain the business opportunity and the term and conditions under which the National Park Service will award the concession contract. The cost of a prospectus is $35 by mail or $25 if picked up in person and will be available March 7, 2005. Parties interested in obtaining a prospectus should mail or bring in person a check or money order (No Cash Sales) made payable to the National Park Service.
