Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items (telecommunication equipment and services) prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Requirement: The U.S. Census Bureau serves as the leading source of quality data about the nation's people and economy. The next nationwide census will be conducted in 2010. As a means of complying with their strategic plan, the U.S. Census Bureau regularly conducts a “test facility” in order to improve processes and technologies. The 2006 Census Test is one of a series of activities that the U.S. Census Bureau is conducting to evaluate new methods and procedures under consideration for the 2010 Census. The 2006 Census Test will include areas in the city of Austin, TX, and its suburbs. The General Services Administration’s Federal Technology Service has been commissioned to conduct an acquisition for the Census Bureau in order to award a contract to a single vendor with the superior technical solution, past performance, and price to provide the Census Bureau with a telecommunication solution for the 2006 Census Test. Interested parties who wish to receive the solicitation for this requirement should send an email request to the contracting officer at todd.richards@gsa.gov. This solicitation is related to a preivous solicitation (7TF-05-0001). That solicitation has been cancelled due to significant changes to the requirement. Any and all questions surrounding this solicitation or requirement should be sent to the contracting officer via email at todd.richards@gsa.gov.
