Description

The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New Orleans, LA is soliciting bids for contractor to provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to upgrade the fire sprinkler portion of the fire protection system. Work consists of a work list of 260 various areas within the medical center, and the contractor shall comply with the current National Fire Protection Association codes and standards. Work shall include, but not limited to, review of the existing fire protection system and calculations to ensure sufficient water flow for both existing and added sprinkler heads, installation of new sprinkler heads, laterals, supplies, valves and supports. Work will also require tie-ins between new work and the existing sprinkler system, and shall be coordinated and scheduled to minimize the number of shutdowns and disruptions to hospital services. Solicitation packets will be available on or about March 16, 2005. A refundable bid deposit of $50.00 is required. Requests for solicitation packets must be in writing. A pre-bid conference will be held on March 30, 2005 at 9:00 a.m., at VA Medical Center, 1601 Perdido Street, New Orleans, LA 70112, Building #2, Room 405. The bid opening is scheduled for April 19, 2005 at 1 p.m., at VA Medical Center, 1601 Perdido Street, New Orleans, LA 70112, Building #2, Room 405. Construction completion time is 120 calendar days. Construction range is between $100,000 and $250,000. The NAICS code is 238990, All Other Specialty Trade Contractors, size standard is $12.0M. Subject to the availability of funds.
