- Description
- This is a request for information only. It is not a solicitation nor does it guarantee a solicitation will be issued. The Government is investigating the availability of a telestrator-like whiteboard collaboration capability for the FalconView (FV) software system, version 3.2. The FV Interactive Drawing (FID) tool should be an overlay layer on FV that utilizes all the capabilities already built into the FV drawing pallet and be automatically distributed to all FV users on a collaboration network. The functionality would be similar to drawing, saving and sharing *.drw files with the following significant differences: - Drawings on any one FV instantly and automatically show on all other FV?s. - Changes can be made to any drawing from any FV on the network, not just by the original author, and the changes are propagated automatically. - This Interactive Drawing layer is a separate overlay from all other FV overlays, so individual FV clients can open/close/modify personally controlled layers (for example: SUAS boundaries, routes, navaides, grids, etc.) using the FV Overlay Manager without pushing the personally selected layers over the network. - The Interactive Drawing Layer should have, as a minimum, a control in the FV Overlay Manager for displaying or hiding the FID layer. If possible and advantageous, FID may utilize the U.S. Army Space & Missile Defense BattleLab?s Advanced Warfighter Environment (AWarE) Backplane to distribute and manage drawing objects. If FID does not utilize the AWarE Backplane, then it must still function simultaneously with AWarE and not interfere with AWarE?s usage of FV. The goal is to generate shared geo-referenced drawing objects that are independent of the map or imagery background chosen by any particular user. The intended application operates within a dynamic Common Operating Picture and can be continuously updated. Therefore, collaborative whiteboards that provide only ?snapshots? of the FV screen that cannot be scaled or panned once the ?snapshot? is taken are not acceptable. If you feel you can provide this service, please provide a 3-5 paged Capabilities Statement to Lt David Rohlinger at david.rohlinger@nellis.af.mil ,Capt David Huber at david.huber@nellis.af.mil, and Major Douglas Larson at douglas.larson@nellis.af.mil NLT 1600 PST 11 March 2005. The Capabilities Statement should address the following questions: What capabilities does your organization possess to provide a whiteboard capability described above? Is this technology available in the commercial marketplace and, if so, to whom is it custoimarily sold? Additionally, please provide a catalog price for this item. If you have any questions regarding this effort please include them in your Capabilities Statement (this will not count against your page limit). Submission of any information in response to this RFI is completely voluntary, and shall not constitute a fee to the Government. Please contact Captain Huber if you have any additional questions.
