Description
On or about Friday, March 04, 2005, plans and specifications will be available at a cost of $100 per set (certified check or money order, payable to Disbursing Officer, U.S. Postal Service) from Northeast Facility Service Office, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300. Plans may be picked up at this address between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by requesting this solicitation package in writing. Work includes, but is not limited to, providing all labor, materials, and equipment to remove and legally dispose of the existing roof system plus install a new PVC roof membrane system at the New Haven Main Post Office, 50 Brewery Street, New Haven County, Connecticut. The estimated cost of the work is between $3,000,000 and $3,400,000 with construction completion no later than two hundred forty (240) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. There will be a pre-proposal meeting for this project held Friday, March 18, 2005 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Postmaster?s Conference Room, 50 Brewery Street, New Haven, Connecticut. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly recommended. On-site visits can be arranged by contacting Bill Klubek, Manager, Maintenance, at (203) 782-7352. Technical inquires are to be addressed to the Project Manager, Michael F. Archacki, at (860) 285-7345 or Project Consultant, Bruce Darling of BPD Roof Consulting, at (860) 653-6779. This is not a formal invitation for bid, therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee bond is required. All offerors will be required to submit a Company Health and Safety Plan which will be part of the evaluation process. Prior to award the successful contractor will be required to submit a Project Safety Plan and a draft Small, Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Subcontracting Plan acceptable to the USPS Contracting Officer. Since construction time will exceed sixty (60) days, contractor is bound by Contractor?s Screening Requirements. The successful offeror will be required to submit a monthly subcontracting report with monthly pay requests.
