- Description
- CDC, NIOSH, National Personal Protective Technology Branch intend to negotiate on a sole source basis a purchase order to the Wheeling Jesuit University, National Technology Transfer Center (NTTC). The proposed contractor is the only known responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. With experience in the identification, assessment, and commercialization of marketable research and technologies, the NTTC is uniquely positioned to assess relevant technologies, identify partners and facilitate partnerships that will provide all of the expertise necessary to successfully complete the project. The purpose of the contract is to fund the NTTC, WV to collect literature on advanced efficient technologies for the development of an advanced self-contained self-rescuer (SCSR) system, conduct workshops/meetings with stakeholders/technology developers to discuss SCSR user needs, analyze various efficient technologies and select appropriate technologies for improving the SCSR system. The new system must be small and light weight, provide optimum oxygen generation and carbon dioxide scrubbing, and have a long shelf-life that can be monitored. The ultimate goal is the creation of a commercial product that supersedes the current capabilities of the state-of-the-art SCSR technology. The scope of work is available, if requested. This is not a request for quotation and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the required services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Inquiries may be sent to Margaret L. Mooney by e-mail at zia3@cdc.gov. This acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
