Description

ZLos Angeles River Estuary Maintenance Dredging, Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California. This is an UNRESTRICTED procurement; all responsible sources may submit an offer. The project consists of dredging the 1500 meter length navigation channe l within the Los Angeles River leading to the Queen's Way Marina, approximately 500,000 cubic meters. It is anticipated that the dredge material will be disposed at 3 different sites: a) in the nearshore along the Long Beach shoreline south of Shoreline Marina, b) at the LA-2 Ocean Disposal Site, and c) in the LA River Borrow Pit site, located approximately 1600 meters east of the Queen's Way Marina , near the Long Beach Shoreline Marina. Depths within the navigation channel range from -1.0 meters to - 4.5 meters, MLLW. Design depth ranges from -5.5 meters to -6.0 meters. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, Dredging, general construction contractors, $17.0 M average annual gross revenue for the last three (3) fiscal years. The estimated cost range of this project is $1,000,000 - $5,000 ,000. The Government intends to issue this solicitation through the use of the Internet. Amendments to this solicitation will be issued as Internet only. No additional media (Compact Disks, Floppy Disks, Faxes or paper) will be provided unless the Govern ment determines that it is necessary. It is therefore the contractors responsibility to check the following address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation. Contractors may view and/or download this solicitation and all amendments from the Inte rnet after Solicitation issuance at the following Internet address: http://ebs.spl.usace.army.mil. All bidders are required to check the Los Angeles District Contracting Division website daily to be notified of any changes to this solicitation. All contr actors are encouraged to visit the Armys Single Face to Industry website at http://acquisition.army.mil/default.htm to view other business opportunities across the Army. Bidders must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), in order t o receive a Government Contract award. To register, the CCR Internet address is: www.ccr.gov. Any prospective bidder interested in bidding on this solicitation must register to be placed on the plan holders list. If you are not registered, the United St ates Government is not responsible for providing you with notification of any changes to this solicitation. Bidders shall register themselves on the Internet. Each bidder, after registering for this solicitation should verify his or her name appears on t he Plan holders List for this project. Plans and Specs will be available on or about 22 March 2005. The Los Angeles District subcontracting goals are specific percentages of the contractors total planned subcontract amount. The goals are as follows: 62% with small business, 10% with small disadvantaged business, 10% with woman owned small business, 3% with Veteran owned small business, 3% with severe disabled veteran owned small business and 3% with hub zone small business. All interested contractors are reminded that the successful contractor will be expected to place subcontracts to the maximum practicable extent with small and disadvantaged firms in accordance with the provisions of Public Law 95-507.
