Description
The Grieve Model WRC688-500 oven, or equivalent, shall be a batch style oven with double doors at one end designed for an operating temperature of 15oF above ambient to 600oF. Specifically, the unit shall be used for the curing of plastisol coatings on various components. This requirement shall be fulfilled by supplying ?commercial items? as defined in Section 2.101 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. The unit shall incorporate the features described below: Facility Interface Requirements: Overall Dimensions: Approximately 8?5? wide x 13?2? long x 8'7" high, not including the 10? monorail extension in the front of the oven. Power Requirements: 460 V, 60 Hz, 3 phase, 80 KW, with utility connection point on the right side of the oven. Installation/Space Requirements: All pieces of the unit shall be designed to fit through a 6?11? wide x 9?11? high opening prior to assembly. Complete reassembly instructions, including field wiring diagrams, shall accompany every oven. Additionally, all parts necessary to reassemble the oven to final operating condition shall be supplied by the contractor. This includes all wiring, wiring run material (conduit, hangars) junction boxes, seals, belts, etc. Minimum Requirements: Interior Dimensions: 6? wide x 8? high x 8? deep, minimum Operating Temperature Range: Fifteen (15o F) above ambient to 600oF, with no more than a +/- 10oF variation at any given setpoint; maximum operating temperature is 600oF +/- 10oF throughout oven interior after oven normalizes. A high temperature limit controller shall be included. Controls: Controls shall be microprocessor based, thermocouple actuated with a digital display. These controls shall include motor controlled push buttons, on/off heat switch, and pilot lights. Lighting: The interior shall be adequately illuminated, with a minimum of 150 watts of lighting. The lighting fixture shall be located on the right side of the oven interior. Air Recirculation: The unit shall be capable of a minimum of twenty (20) air changes per minute. Construction: Oven shall be designed to be installed on a level concrete floor. All efforts shall be made to ensure maximum corrosion resistance in the construction of the unit (both interior and exterior surfaces), including but not limited to the prohibition on the use of dissimilar metals and complete priming and surface preparation of bare metal components prior to construction. Interior surfaces shall be designed for maximum corrosion resistance, maximum heat reflectivity, and ease of clean up. Other construction features to include: Combination air flow pattern, whereby supply air is introduced to the work chamber along each lower side panel, and returned through a full-coverage air plenum at the top of the oven. Adjustable patented opposed louvers on full coverage supply and return air ductwork. Standard rear mounted heat chamber. Two inch thick insulated floor, with steel plate overall. Truth wheel guide tracks, recessed into the insulated floor. Aluminized steel interior. Aluminized steel exterior with enamel finish. Reinforced roof section, with a monorail structure, spanning the interior length of the oven in addition to ten (10) feet in front of the oven. Supports for the monorail shall be placed sufficiently apart to allow an oven truck to load in and out of the oven. The 10? monorail extension located outside the oven chamber shall be mounted to the ceiling of the room where the oven is to be located. Manual trolley hoist for loading and unloading the components on the monorail. Insulation: High density industrial rockwool insulation, 4? thick. Doors: One set of horizontal swing-type doors shall be located at one end only, to allow for batch-style operation. Full clear door opening shall be at least 6? wide x 8? high, not including the monorail notches. Heavy-duty hinges shall be located at the outer sides of the door opening. The doors shall include catch/latch assemblies for explosion venting. Electrical Control Panel: The control panel shall be completely wired, and shall require only that the receiving activity provide 3 phase electrical service for connection to panel board Thermocouples: The oven shall contain one pair of duplex thermocouples, with one thermocouple servicing the primary controller and the other servicing the high limit safety control. These thermocouples shall be located approximately 6? off the ceiling in the back right area of the oven. Shelf Type Load Truck: This welded structural steel rack assembly, supported by four steel casters, shall be rated at 3000 lb. Each shelf level shall have a load capacity of 200 lb. evenly distributed, and be equipped with two ?half shelves?, each measuring 66? w x 45? l. The load truck shall have a minimum of two adjustable shelves. Additional Make-up Heat Energy: Model KW48G10, or equivalent, to compensate for heat loss when exhauster operates at full capacity. Standards: All equipment shall be in conformance with NFPA Bulletin #86 for Class ?A? ovens, IRI codes, and OSHA Safety Regulations. Control panel shall be NEMA 12 and U.L. listed. Operator Safety: Operator safety controls shall include, but not be limited to: Exterior red warning light to be automatically activated when oven is in operation. Adjustable, thermocouple actuated, manual reset, excess temperature control; separate heating element control contactors; Model X6504 (or equivalent) 650 cfm powered forced exhaust blower. With the oven operating at 500oF, the blower shall be capable of safely evacuating fumes produced by 5 pints of solvent per batch load; Model PT (or equivalent) purge timer, to assure exhaust blower has run sufficiently to vent minimum four volumes of air before heat is allowed to come on. It shall be factory preset, and shall prevent the oven from heating until it has timed out; Model EAFS (or equivalent) Air Flow Safety Switch, to provide continuous operation of the exhaust blower. The unit shall be designed to minimize heat loss to the outside and heat transfer to exterior surfaces. Any surfaces/components that will be hot to the touch shall be equipped with warning signs. Identification: The unit shall be identified with a nameplate containing the following information: Nomenclature Manufacturer?s Name Manufacturer?s CAGE Model Number Serial Number Contract Number Warranty: One year coverage, minimum
