Description
DISTANCE LEARNING SYMPOSIUM: FEMA plans to host a one day Distance Learning Symposium/Seminar in the April 2005 timeframe to discuss Distance Learning solutions and strategies. Solution and Service providers are invited to participate; however participation is strictly voluntary. The Symposium location will be at the National Emergency Training Center (NETC) in Emmitsburg, MD. The one-day event will be tailored for NETC Emmitsburg staff attendees (approximately 30 -50 attendees). This is a closed event. i.e., no outside attendees will be participating. The agenda will include several briefing sessions where Distance Learning vendors, practitioners, subject matter experts, technology vendors, and experienced instructors will be invited to address Distance Learning technologies, methodologies, objectives, strategies, innovative models, lessons learned, strategic direction, etc. Vendors chosen to participate (limited to 2-3 vendors per session under the topics of Technologies, Innovative Models, Lessons Learned, and Panel Discussion, plus 1 DL Practitioner selected as an Opening Presenter), will be expected to provide an approximately 30 minute ? 1 hour presentation of their topic and answer questions. This Distance Learning Symposium is not tied to any procurement effort or activity. Participation is strictly voluntary and participants will not be compensated, or reimbursed, in any way for any costs associated with this volunteer effort. Vendors/Contractors/Service Providers/Subject Matter Experts interested in presenting in this event should send a small information packet to: Terri Ware ? Department of Homeland Security/FEMA, 500 C Street, SW, Washington, DC 20472. (NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE). Each packet should include a one page summary sheet that clearly identifies: company name, points of contact, mailing address, website, email address, telephone number, fax number, brief description of presentation, proficiencies, experience and expertise (no more than 300 words.) Information Packets must be received no later than March 21, 2005. Those selected to participate will be contacted by March 25, 2005 and provided the specific date and location, timeframe for presenting, and other specifics about the symposium.
