- The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity is soliciting for maintenance and technical services including performance of on-site unscheduled (remedial) repairs, and on-site scheduled (planned) preventive maintenance checks and services and c alibration (PMCS) of U.S. Army/Government owned sterilizers and the central vacuum and receiver system to which the sterilizers are connected. The Contractor shall provide all necessary travel, transportation, trained and experienced personnel, labor, too ls, safety equipment and devices, diagnostic equipment and software, reports, certificates, parts, kits, fluids, lubricants, materiel, supplies, shipping, transportation and related expenses, postage, and any equipment necessary to perform all repairs and preventive maintenance services, calibration, and electrical safety testing. The Contractor shall have the ability and resources for telephonic, facsimile, and e-mail communications with the Government to transact business and discuss matters relating to the performance of the resultant contract. Equipment listed will be serviced and maintained to meet or exceed the original equipment manufacturer's published specifications. Due to the location of these sterilizers, it will require repair personnel to be exposed to potentially dangerous agents and will require them to have immunizations. At least two but no more than four Contractor employees must agree to, and volunteer for the purpose, of being immunized against select agents that are studied in contai nment areas. Access to the facility will require the Contractor to have undergone a satisfactory National Agency Check and National Agency Check with Law and Credit Coverage. The Contractor shall ensure that Field Service Engineers and repair technicians are technically qualified and competent in the servicing of the equipment. The Contractor shall provide equipment support consultation including technical information, applications information, and operational assistance or training to Government personne l, on an as needed basis, during normal business hours. The Contractor shall provide and install upgrades and updates (software, firmware and hardware). The period of performance is for a base period of 12 months and four 12-month option periods. RFP No . W81XWH-05-R-0011 is planned for release approximately 23 March 2005. A copy of the full solicitation will be posted to the following URL: http://www-usamraa.army.mil.
