- DO NOT CONTACT NANCY DAVIS Points of Contact: Daniel Stafford (505) 284-6170 email: dpstaff@sandia.gov Christine Cooper (505) 844-0138 email: ctcoope@sandia.gov Tonopah Test Range Road Rehabilitation This project involves the rehabilitation or reconstruction of 6.8 miles of Main Road #1 North, a two-lane roadway on the Tonopah Test Range. Project limits are from Edwards Freeway Road to Main Gate. There are two bid alternates for this road: Bid Alternate A is for rehabilitation (crack repair and overlay); Bid Alternate B is for full reconstruction of the roadway with asphaltic concrete. Three other bid alternates are included with this project: Bid Alternate #1 involves reconstruction of the North Area 3 Bypass, a 2000-foot long two-lane unpaved road. Bid Alternate #2 is for reconstruction of the South Area 3 Bypass, a 500-foot long two-lane unpaved road. Bid Alternate #3 involves reconstruction of 1.3 miles of Main Road #1 North, from Bunker 2 Road to Edwards Freeway Road. This bid alternate includes earthwork and culvert installation. All roads will be asphalt paved. Total project length including bid alternates is 8.6 miles. Bidders will be requested to bid on all bid alternates. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Tonopah Test Range on Wednesday, April 6, 2005. The anticipated start date for this contract is May 1, 2005 with a project duration of 90 to 120 days. The contract award basis will be "low net price." In order to be eligible to bid on this job, contractors must have completed a minimum of two (2) jobs of similar size and scope within the past five (5) years. Prospective bidders are requested to submit a letter of interest and a letter from your Surety confirming the ability to bond for a minimum of $3 million.
