Description
The Capabilities Integration Directorate of the Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC/XR) and the Air Force Research Laboratory?s Plans and Programs Office (AFRL/XP) recently chartered the Airborne Electronic Attack (AEA) Technology Transition Organization (TTO) to support the AEA Enterprise Office at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The AEA TTO is leading a joint team to survey, assess, and report on key AEA subsystem and component technologies; and to develop an AEA technology roadmap that will describe applicable electronic warfare (EW) and platform integration technology needs, maturation benchmarks and development options. The overarching goals are to identify critical AEA EW technology gaps and accelerate solutions to fill those gaps; and ultimately, to enable future USAF AEA capabilities. AEA mission functions include electronic surveillance/support (ES) and electronic attack (EA) of hostile radar and communications signals and systems. Specific technologies of interest include, but are not limited to: advanced, effective EA techniques; receiver technologies; EA transmitter/jammer technologies; solid state amplifiers/components/ devices; apertures/antenna arrays; efficient prime power generation; precision timing/references; active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar technologies; threat geolocation capabilities; specific emitter identification (SEI) capabilities; digital EA technique generation; electronic warfare battle management/command and control; datalink/networking capabilities; and AEA integration issues such as electromagnetic interference (EMI) and the use of fiber optics. An AEA TTO Industry Day is scheduled for Tuesday, 22 Mar 05 from 0900 ? 1300 at the A-Team Conference and Innovation Center, 1560 Wilson Blvd, Suite 400, Arlington VA 22209. The purpose of this session is for the AEA TTO to provide an overview of the goals of the technology survey and guidelines for the interaction of the survey team with Industry throughout the survey effort. The AEA TTO POC for the Industry Day is Mr. Gerald Bullmaster, AFRL/SNZW, 937-255-5900, EXT 3565, email: Gerald.Bullmaster@wpafb.af.mil; ? mailing address: AFRL/SNZW, Bldg 620, Room 1AJ39, 2241 Avionics Circle, Wright-Patterson AFB OH 45433-7303. Please co-register attendance by simultaneous e-mail to Mr. Bullmaster and to Dynamic Analytics & Test, Inc. (DA&T), Mr. Ed Ryan (eryan@dat-inc.com) by 1200 hours, 18 Mar 05. In addition, visit requests must be faxed to THE A-TEAM INNOVATION CENTER, ATTN: Security, (Fax: 703-253-1385) and addressed to Anteon Corporation, 3211 Jermantown Road, Suite 700, Fairfax, VA 22031, CAGE ID 07MU1. The AEA TTO team will be accepting white papers on potential AEA technologies and concepts during the period of 10 Mar 05 through 22 Apr 05. White papers are encouraged to be unclassified and all intellectual property/proprietary information will be appropriately protected. If papers are higher than unclassified, proper handling procedures will be conveyed at the Industry Day. The white papers will serve as the basis for scheduling follow-up, descriptive presentations to the TTO in accordance with Industry Day guidance. These technology briefings will be scheduled during multiple sessions in the primary period from 2 May to 17 Jun 05 and will be held at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH and the Washington DC area. A secondary scheduling period will occur from 18 Jul to 26 Aug 05, as required/if needed. Participation in the technology survey is strictly voluntary; no funding or reimbursement is offered or implied. Furthermore, participation in this survey should not be construed as an obligation or commitment on the part of the Government and the Government will not reimburse participants for any costs associated with participation. No claim for current or future contracts or funding for this requirement is authorized or implied and the Government is under no obligation to award any contract as a result of this effort.
