Description

DESC: NSN: 1005-01-134-6737, Part Number 9348405. The item to procure is a M249 Gas Piston Cylinder. The solicitation will be a 5 Year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract with a guarnteed minimum quantity of 2,500 and a maxi mum quantity of 35,000. FOB is Destination. For use on the M249 Machine Gun. Piston assembly is a four piece manufactured assembly from 8620 seamless tubing, 8620 bar stock, 9130H modified steel per ASTM-A-304, and 4340 steel per ASTM-A-322 or 311. Overa ll length is approximately 300MM or 12 inches. Other requirements include welding, heat treatment, phosphate coating, and manufacture of metric threads. All or a part of this action is an unfunded FY05 requirement. Estimated issue date is 25 MAR 2005. T his solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the int ernet: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm. This solicitation incorporates a Technical Data Package (TDP) that cannot be provided via the internet. Vendors who need this TDP in order to prepare a bid or proposal are instructed to request same by submission of an email request to: tacom-ri-tdp@ria.army.mil. Any said requests should contain the following information; CAGE Code (if available), Company Name, Point of Contact (optional), Street Address, City, State, Zip Code, Telephone Number. A TDP will be provided by normal mail after the solicitation has been released to the internet. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested par ties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
