Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Drake Hotel, Chicago, IL under simplified acquisition procedures and to issue an order to the hotel for meeting rooms, refreshments, audio/visual equipment rental, etc. for the Office of General Counsel Annual Awards Ceremony and Spring Training Conference to be held May 9 - 13, 2005. An estimated 200 individuals will be attending this conference. SSA will require approximately 150 sleeping rooms for May 9, 2005, and approximately 95 sleeping rooms for the period May 10 - 12, 2005. The conference space will include one ballroom and two meeting rooms. SSA will also require the hotel to provide light refreshments during morning and afternoon breaks for all participants. SSA has searched hotels in the Chicago downtown area based on the requirements stated above. No other source is known to SSA that is capable of supplying the required rooms and space for the given timeframe in Chicago. Any source submitting a written response to this synopsis shall include sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement, including compliance with the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. A solicitation will not be available. Interested parties that believe they can provide the required services must respond to this notice no later than March 17, 2005. Responses must be submitted either by email or by postal delivery. Faxed responses will not be accepted. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information submitted. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this synopsis will not be honored nor acknowledged.
