Description

The Philadelphia Division of FISC Norfolk's Contracting Department intends to solicit for storage and warehousing services to the U.S. Naval Academy complex and supported activities, including, but not limited to, receipt, inspection, issue, delivery, and the physical handling of all types of material and equipment consigned to the Superintendent/Receiving Officer/Transportation Officer U.S. Naval Academy in support of the United States Naval Academy (USNA) Complex located in Annapolis, MD. It is anticipated that the Navy will solicit for a Firm Fixed Price contract for a 4-month base period beginning 01 June 2005 and ending 30 September 2005, four 12-month option periods and a 8-month option period. Interested vendors will be required to submit cost and technical proposals and the evaluation for contract award resulting from the forthcoming solicitation that will consider technical proposals more important than cost. The applicable NAICS Code for this requirement is 493110 with a size standard of $21.5 million. In accordance with Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) Numbered Note 1, the solicitation shall be issued on a restricted basis and is open to all small business concerns. The Navy is using the policies contained in FAR Part 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items (SAP CI), in its solicitation for the described services. It is anticipated that the solicitation for this requirement shall be posted on or after 17 March 2005 at the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) website (www.neco.navy.mil <http://www.neco.navy.mil>).
