Description

The VA Medical Center Long Beach, California intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Olympus America, Inc. to provide services, support and maintenance for its GI scopes and Endoworks software on lease from Olympus America, Inc. The anticipated contract will include a base year with three one-year options. This procurement is being conducted under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), FAR Part 6.302-1. The Authority applies when supplies or a service required by the agency is available from one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The equipment on lease with Olympus carries a warranty that require services only by Olympus America, Inc. Services by any other vendor would render the warranty void. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, and no solicitation will be made available.
