- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Bellsouth Telecommunications Inc. located in Atlanta, GA. The purchase order is for the purpose of purchasing a maintenance agreement to cover the following services: (1) Local Channel -Transmit TME1T - Main TV-1 Circuit; (2) Local Channel- Receive TME1R - Main TV-1 Circuit; (3) Interoffice Channel 1L5F1 - Main TV-1 Circuit; (4) Interoffice Mileage 1L5A1 -Main TV-1 Circuit; (5) Local Channel - Transmit TME1T Backup TV-1 Circuit; (6) Local Channel - Receive TME1R Backup TV-1 Circuit; (7) Interoffice Channel 1L5F1 Backup TV-1 Circuit; (8) Interoffice Mileage 1L5A1 Backup TV-1 Circuit. This will allow CDC to transport Broadcast Quality Video to Crawford Communications. The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR part 6.302-1 in that Bellsouth Telecommunications Inc. is the only known source with the knowledge required to provide this service. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the required services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
