Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Logistics Contracting Activity (509/10N7NLO) is conducting a market survey to determine the availability and technical capability of businesses that can provide on-site Position Emission Tomography (PET) related services to the beneficiaries seen at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, 109 Bee Street, Charleston, SC. The intended procurement will be classified under NAICS 621512, Diagnostic Imaging Centers, with a size standard of $11.5 million. The professional services required shall include, but not limited to the following: Performing PET scans utilizing CPT Codes 78608 Brain; 78459 Heart; 78491 Myocardial Single Study; 78492 Myocardial Multiple Study; 78811 Tumor (leg, chest, head/chest; 78812 Tumor (skull, base to mid-thight); & 78813 Tumor (whole body). The period of performance will be for a base year with four (4) one-year option renewal periods. Eligible VA beneficiaries and other VA referred pateints in need of PET Imaging services will receive Medicare approved PET Imaging procedures as ordered and approved by VA Radiology. Exams will be scheduled within 48 hours unless otherwise requested by the VA. Reports will be faxed to VA Radiology within 24 hours after the exam until provider and VA work out details on a soft copy report transfer solution. Findings that are acute and/or critical to the patient's clinical outcome will be called to the referring physician or VA Radiology Administration and documented in the report. Any additional imaging other than what has been on the original order must have prior approval by VA Radiologist. The VA will provide the patient's current CT images on CD to the contractor prior to examination being performed. Contractor must have a current updated PET Imaging equipment, including by not limited to the State of South Carolina and Federal Inspection Standards. Concerns that respond to this synopsis shall furnish concise responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above and are invited to submit capability statements no later than 3/25/05.
